As we head into our final two days of the school year, we wanted to share a few important reminders.
Before we do, we want to extend a HUGE thank you to all of the families who volunteered, donated, and helped make today's PAWS Celebration such a success! Your generosity and support helped create an unforgettable day for our students. The smiles, laughter, and excitement we saw throughout the day were truly priceless, and we could not have done it without you. We all had a wonderful day celebrating the amazing students of Haas Elementary! 🎉💚
What an incredible year it has been! From classroom celebrations and field trips to performances, special events, and everyday moments of learning, our students have accomplished so much. We are incredibly proud of our Haas Wolves and grateful for the support of our amazing families.
A special congratulations to our 5th graders as they prepare to take the next step in their educational journey. We look forward to celebrating them during Tuesday's Clap Out!
Thank you for being such an important part of the Haas family. We wish you a summer filled with fun, laughter, adventure, and time spent with the people you love most. ☀️
We can't wait to welcome our Wolves back for another PAWSome year this fall!
💚🐾 Have a wonderful summer, Haas Families!

We are just TWO DAYS AWAY from our annual End-of-the-Year PAWS Celebration, and the excitement is building at Haas Elementary! 🎉
A huge thank you to all of the families who have already signed up to donate items or volunteer. Your generosity and support help make this special day possible for our students!
We are still looking for a few additional volunteers and a few more donations to help make this celebration a success. If you are able to help, please sign up here:

💚 Important Reminder for Participating Students 💚
The PAWS Celebration is a Positive Behavior Reward for students who have demonstrated positive choices throughout the school year.
Please note that students participating in the celebration WILL get wet during several of the planned activities. To ensure they can fully enjoy all of the fun, please make sure your child:
✅ Wears clothes and shoes that can get wet
✅ Brings a towel
✅ Brings a complete change of clothes for after the celebration
✅ Applies sunscreen before coming to school
Each classroom will spend approximately 1½ hours outside, so sunscreen is highly recommended.
Students who do not bring a change of clothes may not be able to participate in all of the planned activities.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the hard work, growth, and PAWSitive choices our students have made all year long. We can't wait for an amazing day filled with fun, laughter, and memories! 💚🐺

At drop off and pick up, please remain in your car and stay in the car line. Students should also remain in the vehicle until it is their turn to unload/load.
We are seeing an increase in families parking, getting out of vehicles, walking through traffic, or having students exit cars early — and this creates major safety concerns for students, staff, and families. The car line only works when everyone follows the same procedures.
Friends… it is MAY. We have almost made it to the finish line together. We KNOW you can do this. 😂
Please help us keep arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and moving efficiently by:
• Staying in your vehicle
• Remaining in the car line
• Pulling forward as directed
• Avoiding parking/walking through the line areas unless you are using designated parking spaces and crosswalks
Our staff is out there every day rain, snow, wind, and sunshine doing their best to keep everyone safe and traffic moving. We truly appreciate your cooperation and partnership!
Haas Elementary Field Day is this Friday, May 22, and we are so excited for a day full of fun, teamwork, and school spirit! 🐺💚

As your child prepares for 6th grade next year, we are excited to share information about an amazing opportunity to join the Genesee Jr. High Band! Band is a wonderful way for students to build confidence, learn teamwork and responsibility, make new friends, and be part of something special at Genesee.
Attached is a letter from Mr. McMartin, our Band and Choir Director, with important information about instruments, expectations, and how to register. We truly encourage families to consider this opportunity for their student!
🎵 Click here to view the letter and register your student for band!: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1d17IDOkeGVF1vLH79qd_JALT6jB3PUyw/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=107287098332476247174&rtpof=true&sd=true
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mr. McMartin directly. We are excited to continue growing our Genesee Band program!
We are asking for your help with an issue we have recently been experiencing at school involving squishy toys (NeeDohs, stress balls, and similar items). While these items may seem harmless, many have been breaking or popping during the school day, causing the sticky gel inside to get on classroom materials, furniture, carpets, and student belongings. Unfortunately, this has also created distractions and interruptions to learning.
Additionally, while many of these products are marketed as “non-toxic,” the gel inside these toys is not intended to come into contact with classroom materials or skin if the toys rupture. We have experienced damage to classroom materials and student belongings after these items have popped open. Due to the mess, distractions, and potential safety concerns they create, squishies and similar toys are no longer permitted at school, including during recess. Please remind your student not to bring these items to school moving forward.
If a student continues to bring these items to school after today, it may result in disciplinary consequences, including a major referral for defiance.
Of course, if your child has a documented need or school-approved plan for a fidget or sensory tool to support focus or self-regulation, they may continue to use an approved item at school. However, the item must be safe for the school environment and not able to create a mess or disruption if damaged. Please also ensure the item is clearly labeled with your child’s name.
We truly appreciate your support and partnership in helping us maintain a safe, clean, and focused learning environment for all students as we finish the school year strong!
Thank you,
Mrs. Cummings

As we begin wrapping up another wonderful school year, we are asking for your help in making sure all library books are returned to school by Friday, May 29th.
Please take a few moments to check backpacks, bedrooms, bookshelves, vehicles, classrooms, and any other common areas where library books may have been placed throughout the year.
Our library plays such an important role in supporting a love of reading for all of our students, and returning books helps ensure they are available for future Haas Wolves to enjoy as well. If a book has been lost or damaged, please reach out to the library with any questions.
