🚗 Important Dismissal Reminder
Haas Families,
As a reminder, our dismissal procedures are designed to keep all students, families, and staff safe and to keep our car line moving smoothly.
If you are not in your vehicle at dismissal and choose to walk up to the dismissal doors with your green student pickup sign, your student will be called for dismissal after the car line has been completed. We will not call students out to adults who are waiting at the doors while we are actively dismissing students to vehicles.
We understand that some families may need to park and walk up to sign a preschool student out of class. However, we will still follow the same procedure: students whose families are in the car line will be dismissed first, and then we will call students whose families are waiting on foot.
This helps reduce congestion around our dismissal doors and allows our staff to clearly see who each student is being released to, creating a safer and more organized dismissal for everyone.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we work together to keep our Wolves safe! 💚🐺

🐺💚 Friendly Morning Drop-Off Reminder 💚🐺
Haas families, we need your help keeping all of our Wolves safe during morning drop-off!
A few important reminders:
🚗 Students MUST remain in their vehicle until 7:45 AM. Students may not enter the building before 7:45 AM, so please keep your child safely in your vehicle until our doors open.
🚗 Please use the drop-off line and remain in your vehicle. We are once again seeing too many families parking and walking students across the parking lot. With cars moving through the lot and drop-off line, this creates a dangerous situation for our students.
⏰ Once drop-off begins at 7:45 AM, the line moves pretty quickly! Please remain in your vehicle, follow the drop-off line, and allow our staff to safely welcome students into the building.
Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep our morning arrival safe and efficient for everyone. We appreciate your help keeping our Haas Wolves safe! 🐺💚

Good morning, Haas Families! 💚🐾
Just a few friendly reminders to help keep our morning arrival and afternoon dismissal running safely and smoothly:
🚗 Morning Drop-Off:
As you are waiting in the drop-off line, please pull your vehicle forward as far as possible so we can fit more cars into the line and keep traffic moving. Please DO NOT block neighboring driveways. Our neighbors need to be able to safely leave their homes and get to work in the morning.
📞 Dismissal Changes:
Any changes to your child’s dismissal MUST be called into the office before 1:30 PM. After 1:30 PM, we cannot guarantee that a dismissal change will be communicated in time. Please call the office at 810-591-2101 with any changes.
🏫 Early Pickups:
Whenever possible, please avoid picking students up early from the office. Every early pickup means your child is missing valuable classroom instruction. We completely understand that appointments and emergencies happen, but we appreciate your help keeping students in class for the full school day whenever possible.
⚠️ Afternoon Dismissal Safety:
During car dismissal, all adults MUST remain in their vehicles and follow the car line. We have had students running across the parking lot to adults who have walked up during dismissal, and this is extremely dangerous while vehicles are moving.
🟢 You MUST also have your green car sign clearly visible in your vehicle in order to receive your student(s). If you need a green car sign, please call the office at 810-591-2101 and we will make sure you receive one. The green sign must be visible during dismissal so our staff can safely and efficiently match students with the correct vehicle.
If you choose to walk up rather than follow our dismissal procedures and remain in your vehicle, your child will not be released until the car line has ended. This expectation is in place for one reason: the safety of every child in our care.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and smooth for all of our Haas Wolves! 💚🐾

Dear Haas Families,
Genesee School District is currently in the process of transitioning from Remind to ParentSquare for school and family communication! 🐾💚
ParentSquare will become our new way to share important district, school, and classroom information with families. Over the next several days, you may begin receiving messages from your child's teacher through ParentSquare as we make the transition and ensure everything is working correctly.
What do families need to do?
If we have a valid email address and/or cell phone number on file for you, you can still receive ParentSquare notifications even if you have not registered for an account yet.
However, we strongly encourage all families to register for ParentSquare and download the ParentSquare app. Registering and signing in will give you the best access to your child's school and classroom communication and all of the features available through ParentSquare.
👉 Visit ParentSquare at www.parentsquare.com to register/sign in, or download the ParentSquare app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
When registering, please use the email address or cell phone number you have on file with the school so ParentSquare can connect you with your child.
Once registered, families can customize how they receive communication, including:
Text messages
Email
ParentSquare app notifications
You can also adjust your notification settings and choose your preferred language.
A helpful note about text messages: If you receive a ParentSquare post by text, the text may include the title of the message along with a link to view the full post. You may be asked to sign in when opening that link. This is another reason we recommend registering and downloading the ParentSquare app.
Please make sure the school has your current cell phone number and email address, as ParentSquare uses the contact information in our student information system to connect you with your child.
We know a new communication system will take a little time for all of us to learn, and we appreciate your patience as we make the switch! Our goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible and make it even easier for our Haas families to stay informed and connected.

🍎 Find out who your child's teacher will be! Visit the classroom, meet the teacher, and help your child become familiar with where they will be going each day.

🚌 Transportation Table: Stop by for information or questions about transportation for the upcoming school year.
🍎 Food Service Table: Get information about breakfast, lunch, and food service for the year.
🎒 FREE Backpack Giveaway: Students will have the opportunity to receive a free backpack to help them get ready for the new school year!

🐾 Haas PTO: Be sure to stop by and meet our amazing PTO! Learn more about what they do for our students and staff and how you can get involved. We would love to have more families join us!
📅 And don't forget—our first day of school is Monday, August 24! We encourage families to use their child's regular arrival and dismissal routine beginning on the very first day. If your child will normally ride the bus, please have them ride the bus to and from school that day. If they will normally be dropped off and picked up, please use that routine. Consistency from Day One helps our students learn their routines and build confidence!
Students will walk to their classrooms independently on the first day, but don't worry—we will have Haas staff throughout the hallways ready to welcome them, help them find their way, and make sure every student gets safely to the right classroom. 💚
We have so much to look forward to, and Open House is the beginning of an exciting new year at Haas!

🍎 Open House is Almost Here! 🐾💚
We are so excited to welcome our Haas families back for Open House on Thursday, August 20, from 5:30–7:00 PM!
During Open House, you'll find out who your child's teacher is, visit the classroom, meet our staff, and begin getting excited for a fantastic school year!
One of our biggest goals this year is to help every student feel confident and prepared for the first day of school. That's why we encourage families to practice the morning routine together while you're here.
We invite you and your child to walk through the morning routine just as it will happen on a regular school day:
🥣 Walk to the cafeteria where students who eat breakfast will go each morning, and where all students wait for the school day to begin. (Please note that breakfast will not be served during Open House.)
📚 Then, walk the route to your child's classroom so they become familiar with where they'll be going independently on the first day of school.
Our hope is that this practice helps students feel comfortable, confident, and excited when school begins. And if they forget where to go on the first day—no worries! 😊 We'll have plenty of Haas staff throughout the hallways to greet students, answer questions, and make sure everyone gets safely to their classroom.
🚍 A reminder about the first day of school (Monday, August 24): We encourage families to begin the school year using the same arrival and dismissal plan that will be followed all year long.
For example:
🚌 If your child is a bus rider, they should ride the bus to and from school on the first day.
🚗 If your child will be a parent drop-off or pick-up, please follow that same plan on the first day as well.
Starting with consistent routines from Day One helps students build confidence, independence, and familiarity with their daily schedule.
We'll be sharing even more Open House information next week, so stay tuned!
We can't wait to see everyone on Thursday, August 20, and officially welcome our Wolves back on Monday, August 24! 💚🐾

Hello Haas Families!
The school office is now open and we're looking forward to welcoming everyone back for the 2026–2027 school year!
If your child will need to take daily medication at school, medication authorization forms are now available in the office. Please stop by to pick up the necessary forms and complete them before the first day of school so we can ensure your child's needs are met.
If you have moved or your contact information has changed, please notify the school office as soon as possible so we can update your student's records.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the office. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
